Story Highlights
Slime is coming to sports' biggest stage! On Tuesday, CBS Sports and Nickelodeon announced that they will produce the first-ever alternate broadcast of the Super Bowl, offering up a kids-friendly telecast of Super Bowl LVIII on Nickelodeon, while the primary game broadcast airs on CBS.
This special broadcast will mark the fifth iteration of Nickelodeon's Emmy-winning AR-fueled alternate presentation and the second one planned for this upcoming NFL season. The concept first launched in a 2021 NFC Wild Card Game. Following another Wild Card Game in 2022, CBS and Nickelodeon produced their first NFL Nickmas Game on Christmas Day 2022, which will return again this December for a game between the Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs.
Over that short period of time, Nickelodeon's NFL-game coverage has evolved from a madcap slime-filled experiment to a multi-Emmy Award-winning must-see annual celebration of the sport. Last December, the Nickmas broadcast took it to yet another level with plenty of AR-fueled visuals aimed at drawing in the next generation of NFL fans.
