Karoline Spodsberg moves up to Nordic COO at Nordisk Film TV

2014-06-11 10:00:00 - Paris Banijay International Managing Director accepts new role within Banijay Group After five years as Managing Director at Banijay International Karoline Spodsberg is moving to a new role within the Banijay Group, taking up the newly created position of Nordic Group COO at Nordisk Film TV, a Banijay Group Company. Reporting to CEO Jacob Houlind, Spodsberg will be in charge of planning, implementing and optimizing Pan Nordic development and sales operations at Nordisk Film TV. She will take up the position following MIPCOM 2014.

Karoline Spodsberg joins the highly experienced Nordic management team of Jacob Houlind - Nordic CEO, Peter Hansen - Nordic CCO and Jesper Bobjerg - Nordic CFO, and will work closely with the strong local management teams led by Kristoffer Graci - Managing Director in Sweden, Lars Finnland - Managing Director in Norway, and Joonas Hyt nen - Managing Director in Finland. Banijay's Nordic Group has six production and development entities: Nordisk Film TV Denmark, Norway and Sweden, Respriator (Denmark), Pineapple (Denmark) and Banijay Finland. Banijay's Nordic Group is the largest producer in the region, delivering over 1,000 hours of programming to local broadcasters in 2013.

Alongside CCO Peter Hansen, Spodsberg will manage the Nordic creative unit; take charge of Banijay Group's catalogue adaptation across the Nordic territories and increase the focus on the internationalization of home-grown Nordic formats. She will also oversee all third party relationships including those with Talpa through the recently established Talpa Nordic JV, as well as with Swedish based Elk and Mexiko.

Jacob Houlind comments, Nordisk has grown the Nordic Group organically by more than 60% over the past 5 years. This has required attaining the right creative talent as well as forging external partnerships with our joint venture partners.
