En 2013, Ang nieux devenait partenaire officiel du Festival de Cannes et organisait une premi re dition de l'hommage Pierre Ang nieux ExcelLens in cinematography consacrant la carri re de Philippe Rousselot (AFC, ASC). Cette ann e, Ang nieux rend nouveau hommage un directeur de la photographie de renomm e internationale, Vilmos Zsigmond (ASC), lors d'une soir e exceptionnelle en pr sence de personnalit s marquantes l'ayant accompagn dans sa carri re et des talents qu'il a mis en lumi re.
En 1956, Vilmos Zsigmond, originaire de Szeged (Hongrie), filme le soul vement du peuple hongrois et quitte clandestinement le pays avec ses films pour rejoindre les Etats-Unis. Avec en t te l'id e de devenir directeur de la photographie, il d bute dans l'industrie de la t l vision commerciale et tourne des films petit budget pour les drive-ins. En 1971, Robert Altman l'engage sur John Mc Cabe , lui ouvrant ainsi les portes d'Hollywood. Ils collaboreront ensuite sur Images et Le Priv .
Ses films font aujourd'hui des r f rences dans le m tier : D livrance de John Boorman, La Porte du Paradis et Voyage au bout de l'enfer de Michael Cimino, Obsession , Blow out et Le Dahlia noir de Brian de Palma, et le film de Jerry Schatzberg Palme d'Or Cannes en 1973 L'Epouvantail . Il collabore galement avec Woody Allen notamment sur Vous allez rencontrer un bel et sombre inconnu et Le r ve de Cassandre .
En 1977, Vilmos Zsigmond obtient un Oscar pour sa cin matographie innovante sur Rencontres du troisi me type de Steven Spielberg. En 2005, il fait partie des quatre premiers r cipiendaires du Troph e des l gendes de la Soci t hongroise des directeurs de la photographie.
