RT is Supporting 18 Arts and Cultural Events all over Ireland this February

This February, RT is delighted to support Dublin International Film Festival, along with 17 other amazing arts and cultural events all over Ireland spanning theatre, film, art, music, dance, opera, festivals, exhibitions and more.

Dublin International Film Festival will bring the best of Irish and international cinema to the capital for a celebration of storytelling from 20th February to 2nd March. Also in Dublin, the Festival of Youth Orchestras will take place at the National Concert Hall, the Mother Tongues Festival in Tallaght will celebrate the beauty of multilingualism and Ireland's rich social fabric, and the Royal Irish Academy of Music's Wigmore Series will host an array of music performances.

In addition, Scene + Heard: The Festival of New Work returns to Smock Alley Theatre, and IMMA will host a new three-year exhibition from the IMMA collection including works by over 60 renowned artists, ranging from the 1960s to the present day. There's also lots of theatre to enjoy including Magpie, a gripping tale of brothers at war at Viking Theatre, and Shakespeare's masterpiece King Lear will take to the stage at the Gate Theatre.

There are several more music and dance events to enjoy around the country. Music for Wexford Spring Season and the Ort s Chamber Music Festival in Cork will present an impressive programme of chamber music concerts featuring both Irish and international musicians. Take Off Festival also returns to Shandon in Cork, with performances of contemporary dance, dabke, and hip hop.

In Limerick, Dance Limerick presents What Next Dance Festival which will gather performers from across Ireland and internationally over six days of discovery and celebration. Tonnta in Galway, brought to life by Gaillimh le Gaeilge, celebrates Galway as Ireland's only bilingual city by inviting everyone to engage with the Irish language vibrantly and inclusively.

And finally, Ireland Reads is calling on people across Ireland to get lost in a good book on 22nd February and celebrate the joy of reading.
