Ghanian filmmaker Juliet Asante s film Silver Rain tells the story of a young girl who works in a market in Accra as a shopping goods carrier. After she meets and develops a relationship with a rich heir, the two must face a number of challenges relating to societal pressure, the class divide and politics. Silver Rain stars a Pan African cast from five African countries and was praised by Michelle Satter of the
Sundance festival Scriptwriting Lab, where it made the final stage of selections in 2011. The film was shot in Ghana and South Africa and is a co-production between Eagle Productions ltd and 4syte studios.
