Perforce Enhances Speed and Efficiency for Developers at Enterprise Organizations With Support for IBM Aspera

Perforce Software, a provider of solutions to enterprise teams requiring productivity, visibility, and scale along the development lifecycle, recently announced the 2017.2 release of its version control solution, Helix Core, which now supports IBM Aspera high-performance file transfer software.

Perforce customer, Aristocrat Leisure Limited, a worldwide leader in gaming technology, is leveraging the Aspera integration and has seen 14 times faster performance with large file transfers. Aristocrat transfers terabytes of digital assets across multiple locations and relies on Perforce with Aspera to maintain its aggressive schedule and improve productivity.

Perforce customers with large, distributed teams can see performance improvements without third-party transfer acceleration by using a federated architecture. Perforce federated architecture makes the most common operations syncing, checking out, merging, resolving, and reverting files local instead of remote. This setup offers users significant performance advantages over other solutions. Adding high-speed transfer technology further improves the speed and efficiency of Perforce federated architecture, offering an alternative to traditional file transfer.

Support for Aspera Enterprise and Connect Servers has been included in the 2017.2 Helix Core release providing the ability to send data at line speed regardless of distances, file size, or network conditions. Transfers that once took days or were completely untenable using traditional technologies now only take minutes or hours, all with complete, built-in security for data transfers that is trusted by thousands of customers around the world, with no restrictions on file size or the number of concurrent transfers or users.
