SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 07, 2013 NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) today announced that IDC ranked NetApp Data ONTAP as the #1 Branded Storage Operating System (OS) during the calendar year 2012 within the open networked disk storage systems market. IDC's Branded Storage OS results[*] measure the value of the worldwide external disk storage systems market by revenue and new capacity shipments based on the underlying storage operating system in use. Data ONTAP ranked #1 in both categories, finishing 2012 with 15.8% revenue share and 21.4% capacity share within the open networked disk storage systems market.

Clustered Data ONTAP Fuels Customer Growth

Cirrity, based in Atlanta, Georgia, is a channel-focused cloud services provider with an emphasis on serving customers that operate in heavily regulated industries. To support its growing customer base, Cirrity requires an IT infrastructure that can scale simply and seamlessly. Because Cirrity works closely with customers in vertical industries such as healthcare and finance, their infrastructure must deliver nonstop availability and high performance without fail.

UZ Leuven is the largest hospital in Belgium and one of the largest healthcare providers in Europe, with approximately 8,500 employees across five locations.
