Cricket kids v experts: Skys stars put in a spin by young reporters

With a week to go until the fifth edition of The Hundred gets underway, Sky Sports hosted a press conference with a twist. Used to asking the tough questions, Sky's on-screen experts had the tables turned on them and were surprised by a room full of kids ready to ask questions with no filter.

The collaboration between The Hundred and Sky Sports saw Nasser Hussain, Ebony Rainford-Brent and Dinesh Kharthik (DK) get a taste of their own medicine by children from Euxton Cricket Club, Lancashire, who caught them out on more than one occasion.

The young reporters were also joined by London Spirit star Issy Wong and Trent Rockets keeper Ellie Threlkeld who were doing their best to help stir the pot, including planting a question as to why a certain member of the Sky team was so late to their own press conference.

Expecting to arrive in a room full of journalists patiently waiting to ask questions, the three former players were a little shocked to see their interviewers were perhaps, smaller, than expected. The reporters' wasted no time getting stuck into the important matters right away ahead of another exciting summer of family fun at The Hundred.

From most embarrassing on-field moments to what hair products DK uses, it's safe to say the experts might stick to asking questions rather than fielding them in the future. And before things got too out of hand, Nasser Hussain called time on a very eventful press conference.

Ebony Rainford-Brent, still wondering what hit her for six, said: I've had to face some tough questions from the press, so I thought I'd get an easier ride than a normal press conference, but those kids came with a tough set of questions. It was honestly the most fun grilling I've ever had. I'll remember to be on time in future!

The Hundred is back for another summer of world-class cricket and blockbuster entertainment. Beginning on Tuesday 5 August with a double-header at Lord's with London Spirit and Oval Invincibles going head-to-head, London Spirit are the defending womens champions, while Oval Invincibles are looking for their third-straight mens title.
