Aframe CEO Outlines the Revenue Potential Wiin Media Clouds at Datacentres Europe Event

As Cloud Computing Takes Hold And New Video Solutions Integrate Into the Enterprise, Aframe Showcases Ways IT Service Providers Can Capture New Revenues from Video Offerings

LONDON and BOSTON, May 28, 2013 David Peto, CEO of Aframe, a London-based cloud video production and asset management solutions company, will outline the sizable untapped revenue potential in the Media Clouds offered by service providers as value added services to their enterprise customers during a talk at this week's Datacentres Europe event in Nice, France, sponsored by the Broad Group.

The explosion of video use in the enterprise, and cloud computing's acceptance as a viable and important way to allow agility and manage costs, have created both problem and opportunity for organisations. Enterprises need help organizing and gaining speedy access to the many terabytes of video they're creating something legacy on-site systems often struggle to provide. Enterprises also continue moving data centre functions offsite, and their IT managers increasingly are looking to embrace software as a service (SaaS) approaches instead of packaged software. Yet for third party data centres, the declining cost per drive of the raw storage media is a double-edge sword service provider infrastructure costs may be less, but if customers need fewer drives and generate lower customer revenue per rack, service provider already razor-thin margins can be driven even lower.

In a talk on The Media Cloud, Aframe's David Peto will explain how enterprises have created central media hubs in the cloud and how they represent a higher-margin, value added opportunity at IT infrastructure companies. Citing examples from major consumer-brand name organizations in the UK and the US, Peto will detail that role that Media Clouds are playing in both media asset management and video production today. He'll outline how his own private cloud at Aframe is architected to address the pivotal concerns of the IT buyer security and speed. He'll size the market opportunity for service providers while listing a palette of service offerings they can provide to a wide range of organisations.
