Produce accurate, quality news bulletins for TV audiences that accurately reflects the latest newsworthy events locally and internationally, and attracts and retains the various targeted audiences of the News Channel

To identify available news stories within tight deadlines appropriate for target audiences

To manage and direct staff in the writing and timeous production of news stories

To ensure the overall quality and accuracy of news content, language context, angle, visual style and flavour

To ensure all bulletins meet the ethical, editorial and production standards

To seek / give consultation and advice on the delivery of top stories

To optimise utilisation of resources e.g. Graphics in production of News bulletins

To keep up-to-date with news inputs and brief team with latest news development

To adjust News bulletin line-up according to availability of news stories to optimise news impact

To give constructive feedback in order to train news staff

To continually communicate with other news areas and the news research unit to find newsworthy stories

To liaise with technical directors regarding the specific delivery of news stories

To determine the order, logical flow and coordination of the line-up in consultation with the Executive Producer

To assist news presenters with their delivery

To answer public queries regarding news stories

To arrange and re-arrange running order on air to optimise impact

Degree in journalism

5 / 6 Years experience in the production of News bulletins programmes

UNIQUE REQUIREMENT

Knowledge of broadcasting processes - editorial, production and operational

Ability to apply language and visuals to optimise news impact

Ability to think on feet
