Stephen Arnold Music Creates Anthem for Fox Television Stations FIFA World Cup Coverage

Stephen Arnold Music (SAM) created an anthem called The World Is Here for Fox Television Stations (FTS) to use in coverage of the FIFA World Cup across its 29 stations nationwide. The work was supervised by FTS VP of Creative Services John Kukla.

The anthem was used in promos and program graphics localized for each FTS station, including those in Atlanta, Dallas, and Los Angeles. The promos incorporate footage of local landmarks, regional soccer clubs, and community watch parties, and direct viewers to station apps and the FOX LOCAL app. The promos were created by Robert Ayson and Chris Ivey of KDFW-TV (Fox 4).

The World Is Here not only captures the spirit of World Cup matches broadcast on the Fox Network, it also inspires pride in viewers for their cities as hosts of an incredible event and visitors from around the world, said Chad Cook, SAM's president and creative director.

The anthem is built on percussion, electronic dance rhythms, and brass, and includes the soccer chant Ole, Ole, Ole. SAM produced versions tailored to individual markets, drawing on Latin pop, Afrobeat, and other genres. The piece also incorporates motifs from FTS's existing sonic branding, previously produced by SAM.

The piece is built on a foundation of bold percussion and vocal chants, with an eclectic blend of international instruments: mallets, synths and strings, said Cook. The music was used to support every type of content related to the World Cup on FTS. That included sports and news features, lifestyle show interview segments and so on. It's all neatly tied into the station's branding.

SAM also delivered a toolkit of stems, sub-mixes, and shorter edits designed to sync with each station's on-air graphics, transitions, and segment branding.
