Submissions Due by Friday, April 4 for Sept. 22-25 Event in Denver

MARCH 27, 2014 (Exton, PA) The deadline is rapidly approaching for proposals for papers and presentations for technical sessions at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2014, the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) announced today.

The final date for submission of abstracts for the cable telecommunications engineering show of the year is Friday, April 4. SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2014 will be held Monday through Thursday, Sept. 22-25, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.

The SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2014 Program Committee is targeting papers that address technologies, best practices, solutions, workforce training, and case studies in three key subject areas customer experience, next-generation video, and next-generation networks. It is desired that all sessions be interactive and include case studies whenever possible.

Suggested proposals for SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2014 include:

Customer Experience Improving the Customer Experience through new technologies and techniques; Defining and Redefining the Connected Home; and Improvements in Installation Experiences and Operations.

Next-Generation Video Transitioning to the All-IP Video Network; Portability of Services; Ultra HD Formats; High-Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC); and Next-Generation User Interfaces.

Next-Generation Networks: Gigabit and Beyond Access Network Architectures and Technologies; Virtualized-, Cloud-, and Software-Defined Networks; and Energy and Event Management.

Abstracts will be reviewed by the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2014 Program Committee, chaired by Tony Werner, executive vice president and CTO of Comcast.

Interested participants must submit through the online submission platform a one-page abstract (300 words max.) identifying which overall theme customer experience, next-generation video, or next-generation networks: gigabit and beyond the proposal addresses. Submissions also must include the paper title, a brief description of proposed session content, and the name, company, mailing address, telephone/fax numbers, and e-mail address of the author/presenter. Previously published papers and product-specific presentations will not be accepted. Abstracts must be tailored for workshop learning and provide real-world tools that attendees can apply to their everyday work.

The Program Committee will announce selected abstracts by May 16, 2014. Selected presenters will be required to provide electronic versions of their technical papers and presentations to SCTE by June 27, 2014, for publication in the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2014 Proceedings.
