Will Oversee All Legal Matters Related to CBS Corporation and its Divisions

Extensive Background in Finance, Technology and Media;

Served as Clerk for Justice Thurgood Marshall on the United States Supreme Court

Larry Tu has been named Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of CBS Corporation, it was announced today by Leslie Moonves, President and Chief Executive Officer, CBS Corporation. Tu, who joins CBS after many years at Dell Inc., will begin his role at CBS Corporation in early January 2014. He will be headquartered in Los Angeles and will report to Moonves. Tu succeeds Louis J. Briskman, who on Monday announced his retirement after more than 30 years with the company.

Larry possesses a deep understanding of how the law intersects with intellectual property, copyright and content distribution, as well as other issues facing our industry, said Moonves. He brings to this position a unique combination of experiences at the highest court of the land, as well as in finance, M&A, entertainment, government regulation, litigation and technology. We are pleased to welcome such a distinguished attorney as the new General Counsel of CBS Corporation, and look forward to the many contributions he will make in that role.

Tu most recently served as General Counsel of Dell Inc. in Austin, Texas, a position he held for more than nine years. Before that, he was General Counsel of NBC Universal for three years, where he oversaw NBC's acquisition of Telemundo, Bravo and Universal. Previously, Tu served as co-general counsel of Goldman Sachs Asia Pacific, where he was based out of Hong Kong. He practiced law for 15 years at O'Melveny & Myers LLP, specializing in corporate finance and M&A, including five years as the managing partner of the firm's Hong Kong Office.

Tu began his legal career as a law clerk for Judge Walter Mansfield on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and then for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. He later served three years in the U.S. State Department's Office of the Legal Advisor, where he was responsible for international trade and investment issues while working extensively with other government agencies, and also served as a special assistant to the State Department's Legal Advisor.

Tu, who was born in New York City, is the son of Chinese immigrants. He attended Harvard University, where he majored in economics, then Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. He later graduated from Harvard Law School. He is married and has two sons.
