Astro offers 8 dedicated KL2017 channels on its digital platforms - Astro Go & NJOI Now

Catch comprehensive coverage of our national athletes on all screens for free

All Malaysians can enjoy the most comprehensive coverage and the best viewing experience of our national athletes at the KUALA LUMPUR 2017 29TH SEA Games (KL2017) on Astro TV and on its digital platforms from 14 August to 30 August 2017.

As the official broadcaster of KL2017, Astro will provide four channels in High Definition (HD) on channels 802, 803, 804 and 805 HD via Astro TV and NJOI TV. Meanwhile, Astro digital platforms will have four exclusive channels on Astro GO and NJOI now, with a total of 8 channels free for all Malaysians on laptops and mobile devices.

According to Lee Choong Khay, Vice President of Astro Sports Business, with the rapid rise of media consumption on digital platforms, Astro aims to bring sports fans closer to the sporting action of our national athletes on its digital and TV platforms.

Following the success of Astro's RIO 2016 Olympics coverage with a record viewership of 11.1 million on Astro Arena, Astro continues to be committed in delivering high quality viewing experience and meeting the demands of broadcasting on digital platforms, as well as creating engagement on social media platform.

With Malaysia hosting this edition of SEA Games, Astro Arena will be mobilising its full resources, with over 300 of its on and off air talent, to deliver world-class coverage and production quality. All Malaysians will be able to access all eight KL2017 channels for free on Astro GO and NJOI Now. We also call on all Malaysians to show their support for our national athletes through our campaigns, #AyuhMalaysiaKu and #KitaSamaHero, said Lee.

Minister of Youth and Sports, Y.B. Brig. Jen. Khairy Jamaluddin, praised Astro's initiatives and commitment to deliver a more comprehensive coverage of SEA Games compared with the previous editions.

Astro is not only leading the consortium in providing broadcasting service for the organiser of SEA Games, but is also the official broadcaster providing the most comprehensive coverage daily so that Malaysian sports fans can share in the excitement of SEA Games, he said.

Astro Arena is also strengthening its digital content offerings by collaborating with YouTuber, TIFO ARENA, who is no stranger to football fans in Malaysia. TIFO ARENA will be providing a different coverage of KL2017 through fans' perspectives at major sporting venues. Catch TIFO ARENA on Astro Arena's YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/AstroArena).

Sports enthusiasts can also get the latest information on our national athlete's achievements throughout KL2017 by visiting Stadium Astro and Astro Awani. Other digital portals such as Astro Gempak, Rojak Daily, Astro Ulagam (Tamil) and Xuan (Chinese) will be offering entertainment-skewed stories on KL2017.
