Ubisoft Takes GoPro Off-Piste in Steep

OK. So you've seen epic GoPro videos of people pushing their limits on skis and snowboards, and in wingsuits and while on a bike in Cascadia. You've been wowed by the videos but realize, perhaps, that those feats are above your head and something you'll only watch and will never actually experience.

Well, thanks to the incredible creativity and mind-blowing development skills of video game developer and publisher, Ubisoft, you will soon be able to go one-step closer to putting yourself into these real-world experiences, without the inherent danger they present.

On Monday at the E3 Expo in Los Angeles, Ubisoft took the covers off their latest project, called Steep, which will be set in a massive virtual playground for snow-sports enthusiasts, allowing gamers to explore an open world of terrain in the Alps, where the cold-smoke powder is always fresh and the runs never end. Steep will feature a wide range of GoPro perspectives for the gamer, delivering the most real-to-life mountain experiences to backcountry and action-sports enthusiasts and voyeurs alike.
