Market Commission (CMT) has launched a pre-consultation on the development of broadband markets in order to know the views of industry about the new regulations to be implemented in the coming years (2014 -2016) to Next Generation Networks (NGN) in Spain.
Stakeholders have until next September 18 to answer questions raised in the document.
Also, the CMT question on the possible revision of the limit wholesale access Telef nica offers up to 30 Mb / s which was set in 2009 for copper or fiber products of the operator.
Finally, the question about the possibility of differentiation between residential and business markets or differentiate the obligations that may be imposed in the enterprise segment to increase competition in that market segment.
New approach for optical fiber networks
The competitive situation of broadband in Spain has changed substantially since 2009, when markets were defined 4 and 5.
This coverage will expand rapidly as a result of investment agreements signed between Telef nica FTTH networks and Jazztel, on the one hand, and between Orange and Vodafone, on the other, and, prospectively, could realize the presence of four new-generation networks
Evolution retail broadband market
Since the last WCL market analysis detected significant migration towards higher access speeds and lower prices for broadband, driven by wholesale regulation set by the CMT.
