Announcing 60 Years & Roadshow

In July 2016, Screen Producers Australia (SPA) commemorates 60 years since its inception with a national roadshow, starting from Melbourne on 2 August and culminating in the Screen Producers Australia Awards at the industry's SCREEN FOREVER conference on 17 November 2016.

This roadshow takes us to all states and territories, exploring our screen industry's collective priorities. The roadshow includes an invitation to the broad production community to contribute to our agenda setting policy work, our industry and its future including:

a policy update drawing on findings from our annual business survey;

insights to our post-election policy priorities and positioning;

information about professional growth and development opportunities;

an update on recent industrial reforms; and

a detailed members only workshop about the newly announced ATRRA agreement.

SPA today also released a new video that reflects our industry's crucial contribution to Australia's culture and audience needs, showcasing the diversity across our membership taken from more than $3.5 billion worth of annual production expenditure.

Screen Producers Australia CEO Matthew Deaner said, 60 years is an extraordinary foundation for the organisation reflecting much of the history of our media industry as we know it.

The industry has throughout this time endured many challenges some of which continue to this day. In these times of challenge, Screen Producers Australia has maintained a united community for the benefit of all its members; we foster extraordinary networks and opportunities for a sustainable and healthy creative and commercial industry and ultimately the framework and services for individual business success.

It goes without saying that many of our most highly regarded and respected producers and production executives within the industry have contributed to the organisation's history, and its future, said Deaner. It is important and vital to our industry that we remain united to address continued changes that affect all our individual businesses.
