Fujifilm and RaceTech UK Signed Five Year Contract

(01/10/2014) Fujifilm's Optical Devices Division Fujinon announced a five year cooperation with UK based company RaceTech which is specialised in sports productions at race courses throughout the United Kingdom. Fujifilm will upgrade their entire broadcast lens range to the latest optical technology starting with the first order of long range telephoto lens models HA42x9.7BE, HA23x7.6BE and wide-angle HA14x4.5BE HD ENG broadcast lenses.

RaceTech was founded in 1946 back then it was known as Race Finish Recording Company which provided photo finish technology to horse race courses around horse racing circuits the UK, in 1995 it officially changed its name to RaceTech. The company is renowned for providing excellent broadcast services and specialised solutions under the harshest conditions to it clients within and beyond the horse racing circuit.

RaceTech works their equipment very hard, and we had to be 100% sure that we had dedicated support and back-up on a daily basis. In addition we work in a competitive market, and had to be sure we had the best optics at the best price point. We are developing new camera systems that need specialised lenses and needed to work closely with a lens manufacturer that not only offers HD broadcast optics, but also specialised in 4K Optics.

Fujifilm ticked all these boxes and after a long and complex selection process we decided to buy Fujnon branded lenses under a frame work agreement which covers the next five (5) Years. Fujifilm have committed to competitive pricing and fast turnaround. We are very pleased with our latest lens acquisition and it has contributed to noticeable uplift to our coverage, not only in terms of range but also crisp picture quality, plans are in place to buy more lenses as we progress through our SD to HD Upgrade.

RaceTech recently received the first batch of HA42x9.7BE (also available as HA42x13.5) long range telephoto 9.7-820mm (optional optically stabilised) HD ENG Style lens for large venues or sporting events. Comes with lens support bracket. Digital servo remote control for full servo studio control, robotics, jibs, tower cams, teleconferencing and other applications where remote control of zoom, focus and iris via RS-232 serial data or traditional analog control is desired. Remote control of the 2X extender is possible with the optional model ECU-2A remote extender module.
