The Government launched a package of measures for the promotion of the 5G The Ministry of energy, tourism and Digital Agenda will convene AIDS for pilot projects that encourage the development and deployment of 5G technology. First to 5G, the 3.6 GHz and 1.5 GHz frequency bands, tender at the beginning of 2018.

The Ministry of energy, tourism and Digital Agenda has announced a package of measures to promote the development of technology 5G in Spain. These include the call for public aid to encourage the implementation of pilot projects and innovative technology 5G-based solutions.

In addition, at the beginning of the coming year shall be the bid of the first frequency bands identified for 5 G, (3600 MHz-3.800 MHz) 3.6 GHz, and 1.5 GHz (1.452-1.492 MHz), with the aim that the operators can begin to do the first projects innovative 5 g.

Both measures are derived from the Plan Nacional 5G, which has published the Ministry of energy, tourism and Digital Agenda, and which is the roadmap for placing Spain among the most advanced countries in the development of this new technology.

5G technology is the cornerstone of the digital transformation and it is estimated that its introduction in the sectors of automotive, health, transport and public services in Spain has an economic impact of up to EUR 14,600 million before 2025.

In the opinion of the Executive, the implementation of the 5G technology will facilitate the provision of services requiring large bandwidth in mobility and will give a boost to the applications of the Internet of things, as the connected car, intelligent transport or the digitization of the rural environment.

Con la publicaci n de este documento, se cumple el objetivo fijado por la Uni n Europea de desarrollar antes de finales de 2017 las planificaciones nacionales para el despliegue de 5G
