Insight and Dateline return Tuesday nights from 3 March to investigate the issues shaping Australia today - from immigration to housing and gender-affirming healthcare
Australia's leading forum for debate and powerful first-person stories, Insight, returns to SBS andSBS On Demand on Tuesday 3 March from 8:30pm AEDT. With respected host Kumi Taguchi returning to guide the discussion, the new season opens with High on Immigration. In 2025, 53% of Australians surveyed by the Lowy Institute said they believe the annual number of migrants arriving in Australia is too high[i]. This episode goes beyond the statistics to explore the lived experiences behind the debate.
Upcoming episodes will question whether the art of debate is disappearing from public life, if jealousy and envy can be embraced and channelled for positive outcomes, and whether we're getting the balance right as gender-affirming healthcare continues to evolve.
The new season of award-winning international current affairs series Dateline, premiering Tuesday 3 March at 9:30pm AEDT, will deliver a fresh line-up of leading global investigative stories and extraordinary characters. The premiere episode examines the largest immigration crackdown in US history. Dateline reports from the city of Minneapolis to meet those caught up in the crisis; and investigates the political fallout from Trump's ICE crackdown.
Future episodes investigate Vienna's revolutionary approach to social housing which keeps rental costs affordable for more than half of the city's population; the rise of far-right politics in Glasgow in the lead-up to the 2026 Scottish election; The Gen Z revolution that toppled Nepal's government, and why the deeply Catholic nation of Peru is facing a monogamy crisis.
SBS Director of News and Current Affairs Mandi Wicks said: SBS' current affairs programs help us make sense of the world. Insight respectfully discusses and debates sensitive issues with empathy and honesty and Dateline, Australia's longest-running international current affairs program, boldly investigates the most complex or extraordinary global stories of our time.
