SMPTE Metexpo Australia One Week Away; Three-Day Conference Dives Deep into Tech By Ken Kerschbaumer, Editorial Director

SMPTE's Metexpo, held every two years and bringing together broadcast professionals from across Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific is less than a week away. Set to be held March 5-7 at Royal Randwick in Sydney, the three-day event is packed with a full conference program covering the diversity of business and technology expertise and innovation, as well as more than 25 exhibits.
We plan to have your favorite industry solutions and services providers as part of our event along with several new participants to reflect the changing needs of content creation, cinema, broadcast, radio, and streaming, says Paul Whybrow, Chair of SMPTE, Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific. The local SMPTE board are so excited to be relaunching METexpo in March 2024. We are working with our new event organiser, Visabel and Royal Randwick to create a SMPTE event we are confident our professional community will really enjoy so join SMPTE for change'.
David Grindle, SMPTE Global Executive Director, says Australia is unique in delivering a SMPTE show and conference that has been around for decades.
We are delighted to be supporting METexpo as a new era begins, he says. It is a focus to provide unique value for SMPTE members to really get the most from the event.

Next Generation Professionals - A single day dedicated to sessions to bring young professionals, students, and industry expertise together for practical connections, career linkages and insights of the 21st century media professional led by Doxia Brownlow and Zali Shepherd from Tabcorp.
And headline speakers include Barbara Lange, principal and CEO of Kibo121 the not-for-profit educator guiding media tech on the path of sustainability; Sir Ian Taylor, New Zealand's 2019, Innovator of the year, Sports Emmy award winner and founder of global success Animation Research; Marc Segar, NEP's Director of Technology; Mark Zorn, Menior Manager, Content Protection, and Production Security at MARVEL, and Grindle.
