The 80th Golden Globe Awards: LGBTQ representationThe Golden Globes Awards which will take place in January 2023 has announced its host and the full list of nominees and they are looking really gay.

The 80th Golden Globe Award will take place on 10 January 2023 with the greatest LGBTQ representation in the awards' history.

Last week they announced Rothaniel Jerrod Carmichael as the first black solo host of the awards, Carmichael earlier this year came out as gay in his HBO comedy special Rothaniel .

Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) president Helen Hoehne said that they are excited to have Carmichael host the awards:

We're so excited to have Jerrod Carmichael host the historic 80th Golden Globe Awards. His comedic talents have entertained and thrilled audiences while providing thought-provoking moments that are so important in the times we live,

We are thrilled to announce that this year's #GoldenGlobes will be hosted by Comedian Jerrod Carmichael!

GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS LGBTQ NOMINATIONS The Golden Globes have taken the call for diversity seriously this year, they say on their official website that its voting body consists of 96 members and 103 international voters.

The new voters were recruited from international industry organizations, well-known foreign film festivals and journalism professionals. This diverse voting group represents 62 different countries around the world,

They also gave a breakdown of the diversity in its voting body, which consists of a majority of women and also a majority of ethnically diverse voters.

Combined with the current membership, the total Golden Globe Awards voting body is now 52% female, 51.8% racially and ethnically diverse, with 19.6% Latinx, 12.1% Asian, 10.1% Black, and 10.1% Middle Eastern.

The Golden Globes have faced a lot of controversies in the past about their lack of representation.
