
Netflix will allocate a million euros to Spanish audiovisual professionals in help lines to alleviate the crisis La plataforma, junto a Academia del Cine, el ICAA y Acci n Cultural Espa ola suman fuerzas para crear una l nea urgente de ayuda asistencia a los profesionales del audiovisual m s afectados por la crisis derivada del coronavirus COVID-19.
Netflix, Acci n Cultural Espa ola (AC/E), la Academia de Cine y el Instituto de la Cinematograf a y de las Artes Audiovisuales (ICAA) firmar n un convenio para impulsar una l nea asistencial para los profesionales del audiovisual m s impactados por la crisis del COVID-19 en Espa a.
Las ayudas estar n dirigidas a los trabajadores art sticos y/o t cnicos que est n atravesando una situaci n econ mica precaria y no puedan trabajar debido al cese de la producci n audiovisual. Netflix contribuir a lanzar esta l nea de ayuda en Espa a dot ndola de un mill n de euros.
Jos Manuel Rodr guez Uribes, ministro de Cultura y Deporte, ha destacado que celebramos que en poco tiempo se haya podido articular una colaboraci n entre organizaciones de distinta naturaleza, p blicas y privadas, con el fin de buscar soluciones de apoyo al sector del cine y el audiovisual como requiere esta situaci n sobrevenida. Uno de los objetivos de esta iniciativa era la agilidad de su puesta en marcha, garantizando el rigor y la transparencia, algo que solo es posible gracias al consenso entre las partes implicadas, cada una aportando conocimientos y recursos humanos, t cnicos y en el caso de Netflix, tambi n econ micos. Desde aqu agradecemos esta muestra de generosidad, compromiso y solidaridad de la plataforma con la industria del audiovisual en Espa a .
Desde la Academia de Cine saludamos iniciativas como esta, destinadas a paliar los da os que est causando la pandemia en los trabajadores del cine. Animamos a que se articulen otras iniciativas privadas y p blicas para la reactivaci n de las industrias culturales. Estamos convencidos de que en este momento excepcional son necesarias medidas excepcionales. Confiamos en que los poderes p blicos impulsen y canalicen cuantas medidas sean necesarias para garantizar la supervivencia de nuestra industria , ha indicado Mariano Barroso, presidente de la Academia de Cine.
Jos Andr s Torres Mora, presidente de Acci n Cultural Espa ola, comenta que las circunstancias excepcionales (y la pandemia producida por la COVID-19 lo es) exigen respuestas excepcionales. Este es el momento de unir las fuerzas de todos para paliar el da o que el virus est causando en la vida de las personas, en la econom a y en la sociedad. Netflix ha querido hacer un ejercicio de solidaridad en el sector audiovisual, que desde AC/E agradecemos, apoyamos y acompa amos, con la esperanza de que haya m s empresas, organizaciones e instituciones que se sumen .

Todos los detalles de esta l nea de ayuda, los criterios de elegibilidad y el nivel de financiaci n individual se elaborar n con los distintos agentes sociales del sector. Esta iniciativa est abierta a recibir colaboraciones de cualquier entidad que quiera contribuir a ayudar a los trabajadores de apartados art sticos y/o t cnicos m s afectados por la COVID-19 en Espa a.
Por parte de Netflix, la creaci n de esta l nea de ayuda forma parte de una iniciativa global (anunciada el 20 de marzo) que destina 100 millones de d lares a apoyar a los trabajadores del cine y la televisi n. Una gran parte de este importe est dirigido a ayudar a las producciones de Netflix en Espa a y en el mundo. El resto (15 millones de d lares) se destina a fondos de emergencia dedicado a los profesionales del sector audiovisual en diferentes pa ses como Reino Unido , Italia o Francia, entre otros.
