Banijay's Fear Factor Returns to Russia

WeiT media, a Banijay company, today confirms Fear Factor will return to Russia after 16 years, in a deal with NTV.

Hosted by singer Anatoliy Tsoy, the new series in Russia will air later this year, and sees pairs of celebrities working through a series of intense challenges that put their primal fears to the ultimate test. From walking on a machine boom over a quarry, to burying themselves in a rat infested grave, this reality game show sees six celebrity contestants pushed to their limits both physically and mentally. If they manage to complete each task, they advance but if they fail the mission, they are immediately eliminated. Only one that triumphs at the final post will be able to win the cash prize for their chosen charity.

Filming for the 8 48 series will take place in Tula, known in Russia as the hero-city', and thus the perfect location for celebrities to face their fears.

Originally created by Endemol Shine Netherlands, Fear Factor is a proven international success with returning seasons in India, US and Belgium amongst others.
