The Late Late takes to the road in search for Toy Show Performers

The Late Late Toy Show is going on the road in search of the country's best young performers to take part in the biggest night on Irish TV.

For the first time ever host Ryan Tubridy and the Toy Show crew will be heading around the country to find the best singers, groups, and musicians to perform on this year's show.

Ryan Tubridy said: As everyone knows the kids are the stars of the Toy Show. This country is jam-packed with young talent and this year we're casting the net far and wide to make sure the country's brightest young stars get their chance to shine. I'm really excited to take the show on the road in search of the budding entertainers that make The Late Late Toy Show the must-see TV event of the year .

Auditions will take place in Cork (October 12th), Athlone (October 13th) and Sligo (October 14th) with Dublin to follow on October 19th. The auditions are invite-only so it is crucial that any talented youngsters who fancy appearing on the most watched show on Irish television get their application in now. Ryan will also bring his RT Radio 1 show with him, broadcasting live from Cork, Athlone and Sligo on the day of the auditions.

Toy Show producer Katherine Drohan said: We are looking for the best performing groups, singers, and musicians, and thought it would be fun to hit the road, with Ryan, to find the most talented kids out there. It's never been done before previously all auditions took place in RTE studios - so we're excited to hit the road. Whether you are part of a performing group, or just love singing into your hairbrush in front of the mirror, make sure you get in touch .

To be in with a chance of featuring on the show, performers' parents must download an application form and send it to us, along with a DVD or USB key of their child or group in action. The closing date for entries is Monday, October 5th so time is of the essence! The show is also looking for youngsters to demonstrate this year's must have toys, though they won't have to attend the regional auditions.

We are always on the look-out for the latest LEGO genius or Rubix Cube expert, but we also love to hear from kids who have interesting hobbies outside the top ten toys. That's what was so great about Toy Show demonstrators John Joe Brennan, who wanted to be a horologist, and Douglas Oman, our budding fashion designer. Whatever your interest, if you have a toy obsession of any kind we want to hear from you, said Katherine.

Last year, close to 1.4 million people watched the Toy Show as Ed Sheeran surprised Aimee Keogh, and 269 lucky performers and toy testers took part in the show.
