ARMA 05 Customer Spotlight: Brandon Reeder by Jeica Bundy

Meet Brandon Reeder, Corporate Records & Document Control Manager, at K&N Engineering. Brandon has been in the industry for 21 years and this will be his 12th ARMA conference. We had the opportunity to meet with Brandon and find out about his records and information management goals for the upcoming year, as well as his plans for this year's ARMA conference, happening October 5-7, 2015 in Washington, D.C.

Brandon, what information management solution does K&N utilize from Iron Mountain?

We use Iron Mountain's data management solution as a cost effective solution for our back-up tapes.

Why is data back up so important?

Time and Money. We are able to retrieve back-up on a particular server which allows us to continue production on a huge order that is important to our business continuity.

Are you currently involved in any big data projects?

The Marketing Department is currently using social media to monitor response to our advertisement campaigns and commercial advertisement. The Manufacturing side is conducting time studies to improve our shipping process. We are consistently looking at improving our process to maintain great service for our customers and continuing to provide Quality Products that perform as promised.

What are your Information Management goals for 2016?

Our main goal is to continue centralizing our documents into one location for ISO/TS 16949 Certification. In addition, we are seeking out methods of storing information in the cloud, so we can improve our I.T. Infrastructure as we continue to grow as a company.

What are you most looking forward to at the ARMA conference this year?

Networking, Continued Education, sharing successes and headaches with my peers, learning about new technology and services from Vendors and of course spending time with my Iron Mountain friends.
