Triangle Busine Journal Names CBC to List of Top 5 Healiest Employers

Capitol Broadcasting believes the health and wellness of our employee are paramount, and the Triangle Business Journal recently recognized our efforts with a place on the Triangle's Top 25 Healthiest Employers List. CBC received the honor at a luncheon on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at the Crabtree Marriott. At the luncheon, the Triangle Business Journal announced the ranking of the Top 25 companies; CBC came in at number 16.

The Triangle Business Journal partnered with Healthiest Employers LLC to host the awards contest. They called this year's field the most competitive ever. The Town of Apex took the top prize with the number one slot, while Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority and Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC rounded out the top three, respectively.

CBC earned the honor for their slate of wellness programs called Be Active CBC, as well as an annual Health Fair through which employees can earn discounted health insurance premiums for participating. CBC also offers on-site CPR and First Responder training and encourages all employees to become certified and to maintain that certification. Other healthy benefits include smoking cessation programs - all CBC locations are smoke-free campuses - and healthy choices in all breakrooms and vending areas.
