DTS Announces DTS-HD Immersive Audio To Be Added To DIVX Software

DTS, Inc. (Nasdaq: DTSI), a leader in high-definition audio solutions and audio enhancement technologies, today announced that it is partnering with DivX, an innovator of digital video solutions, to integrate DTS-HD audio encoding and decoding into the upcoming DivX 10 software release. This collaboration introduces the first software product that enables the creation and playback of DivX video, in HEVC up to 4K, featuring DTS-HD audio on both Windows and Mac. In addition to DivX Player and DivX Converter supporting DTS-HD audio, the latest version of DivX Web Player will also support video streaming with DTS-HD audio to any web browser.

Adding DTS-HD Master Audio as a plug-in for DivX software provides consumers a seamless solution to create and enjoy studio-quality audio in their high-quality DivX videos, including HEVC up to 4K, said Dr. Kanaan Jemili, CEO of DivX, LLC.

DTS-HD technology is a high performance discrete audio codec designed specifically to enable streaming services to deliver content to connected devices in immersive surround sound.
