Story Highlights
It was a sad day for the city of Oakland and for baseball fans at large when the Oakland A's played their final game at the Oakland Coliseum on Sept. 26. It's a stadium and city the team have called home for more than half a century.
NBC Sports California, the team's regional sports network partner, was on hand to broadcast the game and they did so with extra love and care with a crew that has worked MLB games in the building for decades.
In this episode of SVG Rewind, we sit down to break down what it took both technologically and emotionally to produce this historic game with leaders from the NBC Sports California team. Devon Fox, Senior Director of Live Events and Special Projects shares how the live game coverage was handled. Dave Bernstein, Senior Director, Production and Editorial shares how his studio team approached extended pre- and post-game coverage. And Justin Hathaway, VP of Content dives into how the network approached the day from a multi-platform perspective, including social media and website.
