Ericsson and German Telekom han alcanzado una velocidad de transmisi n de datos sin precedentes al superar los 100 Gbps en un enlace de prueba de microondas de m s de 1,5 km.

Este hito confirma la viabilidad del espectro de microondas sobre ondas milim tricas como una importante extensi n de nuestra cartera de opciones de transporte de alta capacidad y alto rendimiento para la era 5G. Adem s, representa una soluci n que cambia el juego para las futuras capacidades de fronthauling .
Per Narvinger, director del rea de redes de productos de Ericsson, afirma que esta prueba significa el establecimiento exitoso de capacidades reales de fibra en el aire mediante el uso de microondas. Esto significa que el microondas ser a n m s relevante para los proveedores de servicios de comunicaciones en la creaci n de redes redundantes como respaldo para la fibra, o como una forma de cerrar un anillo de fibra cuando la fibra no es una soluci n viable. Adem s de confirmar el potencial de la tecnolog a de microondas en el espectro de ondas milim tricas (70/80 GHz y m s) como una soluci n de 5G y m s all de las soluciones de front-haul y backhaul, el ensayo demostr la importancia de aplicar t cnicas espectrales eficientes, como MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) en las tecnolog as de backhaul inal mbricas para hacer frente a las futuras demandas de acceso radioel ctrico 5G.
Equipamiento t cnico Los principales avances tecnol gicos incluyeron un MIMO con l nea de visi n de 8 8 con configuraci n de cancelaci n de interferencia de polarizaci n cruzada utilizando radios comerciales MINI-LINK 6352 y un ancho de banda de canal de 2,5 GHz en la banda E (70/80 GHz) capaz de transmitir ocho flujos de datos independientes a trav s del trayecto de radio. Esto corresponde a una eficiencia de espectro revolucionaria de 55,2 bps/Hz en el pico.
Durante la prueba, las mediciones de las tasas de transmisi n se mantuvieron consistentemente por encima de los 100 Gbps, con una disponibilidad de grado de telecomunicaci n (superior al 99,995 por ciento), con tasas m ximas que alcanzaron los 140 Gbps.
