LLANO ESTACADO, GEORGE BOSAK RECEIVE TOP SCTE CHAPTER AWARDS

JUNE 27, 2013 (Denver, CO) The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) today announced that the SCTE Chapter of the Year for the second consecutive year is the Llano Estacado Chapter and that the SCTE Chapter Member of the Year is George Bosak of the Dakota Territory Chapter.

SCTE bestowed its annual Chapter Awards at a dinner Wednesday evening as part of SCTE Chapter Leadership Conference (CLC) 2013, which concludes today in Denver. The awards were based on 2012 performance. The Llano Estacado Chapter serves the Lubbock, Texas, area. Bosak, an SCTE member since 1993, is technical training manager with Midcontinent Communications in Sioux Falls, S.D.

SCTE also presented awards for second- through eighth-place Chapter of the Year. Those chapters were: Razorback (second); Golden Gate (third); New England (fourth); San Diego (fifth); Dakota Territory (sixth); Green Mountain (seventh); and Sierra (eighth). The Most Improved Chapter of the Year honors went to Mid-Columbia.

The annual SCTE Chapter Awards also include the Compliance, Recruitment, Striving for Excellence, and Professional Development awards; a Most Improved Chapter in each of those categories is also honored. The winning chapters were:

Compliance: Razorback; Most Improved: Bluegrass

Recruitment: Green Mountain; Most Improved: Hill Country

Striving for Excellence: Sierra; Most Improved: Iowa Heartland

Professional Development: Llano Estacado; Most Improved: Razorback

The Compliance, Recruitment, Striving for Excellence, and Professional Development awards are each earned based on an objective points system for each award. Combining the points earned for those four award categories determines the Chapter of the Year Award recipients. The Chapter Member of the Year Award is determined by a traditional nomination process.
