Sunday movie: Breaking In - what you need to know

If you're stuck at home this Sunday evening with nowhere to go, consider tuning into M-Net at 20:00 for a Gabrielle Union action film.

The film, directed by James McTeigue, follows the harrowing tale of a woman fighting to protect her family during a home invasion.

Gabrielle Union Breaking In Plot Shaun Russell takes her son and daughter on a weekend getaway to her late father's secluded, high-tech vacation home in the countryside, but the family soon gets an unwelcome surprise when four men break into the house to find hidden money.

After managing to escape, Shaun must now figure out a way to turn the tables on the desperate thieves and save her captive children. There's a reason why the tagline is: Payback is a mother.

WATCH: Breaking In Official Trailer Review The film received mixed reviews. Jeffrey M. Anderson from Common Sense Media said Union is appealing, and Burke's calm simmer is fun, while Helen O'Hara from Empire said it is committed and convincing.

However, both feel that the film contains one too many cliches. That said, if you want a fairly decent action flick on a rainy Sunday night, this one might just do the trick.
