Cobalt Digital Announces Presence at ANGA COM 2023

Award-Winning Product Portfolio is Being Presented on Smart Video Group Stand, and Company's Berend Blokzijl is Scheduled to Share RIST Insight on Innovation Stage

Cologne, Germany - 18 May 2023 - Cobalt Digital, Inc., designer and manufacturer of award-winning edge devices for live video production and master control, and a founding partner in the openGear initiative, is presenting its award-winning product portfolio at ANGA COM 2023, advertised as Europe's leading business platform for Broadband, Television and Online applications. Cobalt's products on display include the newly introduced, and multi-award-winning Sapphire converter series, 9992 encoder/decoder family enriched with RIST Adaptive Encoding, and a video content transport solution that operates in the cloud. The solutions are being showcased on Smart Video Group's Stand B23 in Hall 7.

Cobalt's Director of Sales for EMEA, Berend Blokzijl, is on site to explain the multi-faceted features of the Companys products and discuss the operational and economic benefits to broadcasters and content owners. Blokzijl is also presenting a session on 24 May at 16:00 titled RIST Gateway by Cobalt - Reliable (live) Contribution of Broadcast Feeds over the Internet on ANGA COM's Innovation Stage which is part of the new Streaming & OTT Hub in Hall 7.

Sapphire Converter Series

Cobalt is presenting its newly launched Sapphire converter family at ANGA COM. Highlights of the series include:

The Sapphire BIDI-2H2S, a dual channel bidirectional HDMI to SDI / SDI to HDMI converter that conserves space in existing openGear installations.

The Sapphire 8JXS-8S, a ST 2110 JPEG-XS to SDI bulk gateway in openGear form factor that allows up to 40 signal conversions in a standard openGear chassis - and winner of both a 2023 NAB Show Product of the Year award and an NAB Best of Show award.

The Sapphire BBG-2110-H/S & Sapphire BBG-2110-2H mini converters that are part of Cobalt's Blue Box Group (BBG) series and that also received a 2023 NAB Show Product of the Year award. The compact units are intended to be mounted behind the monitor and include single or dual 25Gb/s ports (for ST 2022-7 redundancy).

The Sapphire 8JXS-8S openGear card and the Sapphire BBG-2110-H/S & Sapphire BBG-2110-2H mini converters will be available for shipping in Summer 2023.

9992 ENC/DEC Family Gets RIST Adaptive Encoding

Cobalt's software-defined family of 9992-ENC/DEC encoders/decoders offer traditional broadcast features combined with advanced network options to provide a perfect solution for sports, news gathering, video contribution and affiliate distribution. The series now offers RIST Source Adaptation (VSF TR-06-4 Part 1), a specification that defines a protocol for the stream receiver to provide feedback information to the source to trigger an appropriate action. RIST Source Adaptation enables the 9992-ENC encoder to adapt its output data rate to match network conditions instantaneously based on feedback from the decoder. The encoder adjusts without interruption If network traffic conditions deteriorate and is restored automatically once the network improves.

SafeLink 8TS-VM - SafeLink Gateway in the Cloud

Cobalt's SafeLink Gateway transports any audio and video content over the internet with low latency. The solution is now available as a cloud instance in addition to the openGear form factor. Honored at NAB with a Best of Show award, it is ideal for ground-to-cloud and cloud-to-ground transmission using RIST.

SafeLink Hardware Redundancy

A 1+1 redundancy for the hardware based SafeLink Gateway is also now available.
