The sector supports the 4K, a technology that could start to be marketed en masse in two or three years La industria coincide en que tecnol gicamente 4K ya es una realidad, a nivel de producci n tambi n se est n haciendo cosas, ahora, el siguiente paso ser llevarlo a la distribuci n y convertirlo en una tendencia comercial. Todos coinciden en que quedan dos o tres a os para ello.
La tecnolog a 4K ha llegado para quedarse y, a diferencia de lo que ocurriera con HD, su implantaci n no va a suponer una disrupci n con las tecnolog as existentes, ni un cambio radical que suponga grandes inversiones. Esta es la opini n del panel de expertos que se ha reunido en Broadcast IT Experience para debatir el posicionamiento actual de la ultra alta definici n y las expectativas que presenta de cara al futuro.
En lo que respecta a las cadenas de televisi n, TVE y Canal+ podr a considerarse que son los pioneros en esta tecnolog a ya que son los nicos que est n apostando por ella y ya han puesto en marcha algunas experiencias como el piloto que est realizando TVE en el Museo del Prado. Ya hemos realizado la producci n y la postproducci n y los resultados han sido excelentes ya que se puede ver hasta el m s m nimo detalle de las obras que se exponen , explica Miguel ngel Bona, director de planificaci n de radiocomunicaciones en RTVE.
A la hora de poner en marcha este proyecto, el mayor problema lo encontraron en el almacenamientos. Eran 3,5 TB y para hacer la comprensi n se precisan equipos muy potentes, adem s tambi n hay que tener en cuenta la limitaci n de movimiento, ya que estamos trabajando a 25fp y capturamos a 50fp .
En Canal+ las experiencias han sido m s puntuales como la que hicieron bao la denominaci n de Un d a en 4K que grabaron una promoci n de cuatro minutos y la emitieron en directo durante toda la jornada en bucle. Una experiencia que piensan volver a repetir ya que como comenta Adolfo Remacha, director T cnico en Prisa TV, nuestra obligaci n es adoptar las innovaciones tecnol gicas para ofrecer lo mejor a nuestros usuarios . Su opini n sobre 4K es que a esta tecnolog a no le pasar como a 3D y su implantaci n est asegurada aunque no creo que se pueda hablar de que sea una realidad en el mercado a nivel comercial hasta 2016. 4K tienen mejores expectativas que 3D ya que precisa de un aparataje menos inc modo. Lo que si es necesario para asegurar su xito es buscar la forma de que sea econ mico y rentable .
Consolidate standards
Desde el punto de vista del canal de distribuci n, principal problema lo encuentran en el ancho de banda y, sobre todo, en la consolidaci n de la estandarizaci n.
Esther Fern ndez, gerente de Marketing y Planificaci n Comercial en Hispasat, considera que el sat lite se posiciona como el canal ideal para la transmisi n de contenidos que precisa gran ancho de banda. Y piensa que la clave para que esta tecnolog a se implante en el mercado se encuentra en la consolidaci n de los est ndares. Hemos puesto un canal demo para promover adopci n tecnolog a por parte de la industria. Esta en abierto. Para final de a o en EEUU y para 2014 con la pesta en orbina de un nuevo satelite en Latinoam rica .
Por su parte, Miguel Pingarr n, director de Desarrollo de Negocio de SES en Espa a, considera que hasta 2015-16 no estar disponibles los primeros canales y plantea como problem tica para su adopci n la consistencia de sistemas con los nuevos est ndares ya que todos tienen que convivir. Falta todo el proceso de estandarizaci n y hay que dar tiempo para consolidarlo .
Llegada al hogar en 2015-16
Desde el punto de vista del hogar, para Andr s Rom n, Strategic Planning Sony Home Entertainment Europe, la adopci n est clara. si hay contenidos el usuario los va a querer. Llevamos 8 a os trabajando y lo que estamos dando es la calidad del cine. En Espa a ya hay 20.000 salas de cine que tienen 4K, mientras que en Estados Unidos, el 40% tiene 4K. La calidad 4K ofrece menos cansancio, da la sensaci n de que el contenido dura y se entiende mejor . Tambi n considera que es importante que ya se empiece a producir en 4K porque en el futuro esto ya estar hecho y se podr disfrutar de ello. Las expectativas de Rom n es que para finales de 2014 uno de cada seis televisores sea 4K.
Manufacturers are optimistic
El punto de vista de los fabricantes, representados en la mesa redonda por Pedro Serrano, senior Sales Manager the Blackmagic, y Yeray Alfageme, Pre-sales and Project Engineer de EVS, es optimista. Datos de mercado nos hacen pensar que el paso de HD a 4K va a ser mucho m s r pido de lo que se espera. A nivel de producci n ya se est n realizando grandes eventos y est previsto la realizaci n de los Juegos Ol mpicos de Brasil y Jap n se hagan en con esta tecnolog a.
Por otra parte, tambi n resaltan que el coste de los productos en 4K no es mayor que el de los sistemas HD. Seg n vamos renovando las gamas vamos pasando a 4K pero no estamos incrementando los precios que es lo que paso cuando se cambio a HD.Esto nos dice que la adopci n de esta tecnolog a va a ser mas r pida a nivel de producci n que de usuario .
Yeray Alfageme comparte la opini n de su compa ero de mesa en lo que respecta a los costes Tenemos el equipamiento y con m nimas actualizaciones y, sin sobre coste, ya se puede producir y almacenar en 4K. Y tambi n creo no va a haber una brecha ni un apag n como ocurri con HD. Creo que 4K va a convivir con HD e incluso con SD.
