Actress and musician Nelisiwe Sibiya has revealed that she bagged yet another award at the Africa Social Entertainment Awards (ASEA) 2022 for the Best Actress award.

The Durban Gen actress took to her Instagram to share the good news and gleamed at being recognised for her work after being with the e.tv medical drama Durban Gen for three years.

NELISIWE THE DRAMA GRADUATE The 30-year-old said that when she decided to pursue acting, she was scared of the judgement from people because she was mostly known as a musician.

when I started I was so scared because I knew people would judge and try to bring me down as I was just known as a musician not them knowing that I Infact also studied and graduated with drama, she wrote.

The actress said that this is the fifth or sixth time she is winning an acting award since she has been on Durban Gen playing the character of Mbali Mthethwa.

In my I can say 3 years from 2020 of my acting career in @durbangen_etv this is my 5th/6th award. After being called names and being judged I can't believe I am honestly an international multi-award winning actress This is all God, amadlozi, Mvelinqangi, uNyazi! This is proof that you must just put work in your craft and your work will speak for you, Nelisiwe said.
This award goes to every young black girl from the rurals and locations who have nothing but just a dream Ngyabonga, the actress added.

DURBAN GEN' COMING TO AN END With Nelisiwe winning awards, the show she is on is coming to an end but not before they go on a production break this Friday 16 December.
TVSA reports that Durban Gen will be going off-air from Friday 16 December and returns on Monday 9 January 2023 for a final three months or so.
