New PD Series portable monitoring unit and Evie64m networking module provides easy monitoring of up to 64 MilanTM audio channels

Audio-over-IP specialist, Nixer Pro Audio has expanded its PD Series of portable audio monitoring solutions, marking the launch of its new PD Milan and Evie64m networking module at ISE 2025 (Booth 4M730, Fira de Barcelona, Gran Via 4-7 February 2025).

As networks strive for improved and lower latency and increased control to improve speaker synchronisation at live events, the compact and handheld PD Milan provides engineers with a tool for quick and easy monitoring of up to 64 MilanTM network audio channels. This is particularly crucial in large venues hosting live, time critical events such as theatre productions and festival stages, as well as resort style installations, including hotel venues, conference centres and casinos.

There are no second chances when it comes to live events, so time alignment is crucial when multiple speakers are involved, Nick Fletcher, founder & CEO of Nixer Pro Audio, explains. In order to provide music concert or conference audiences with a cohesive and immersive audio experience, AV operators are looking for low latency AoIP solutions and simplified monitoring, which is exactly what our PD Milan provides.

The PD Dante is equipped with Nixer's new Evie64m, a networking module based on the AVB (Audio Video Bridging) standard. The Evie64m is Milan compatible and can be easily integrated across Nixer's entire product range, as well as third-party products such as amplifiers, DSPs, and mixing consoles, to reduce time to market.

Nixer's PD Milan is a new addition to the company's PD Series of products, which includes the long-established PD Dante and PD Ravenna that launched earlier this year.

These compact, portable audio monitoring units are designed for demanding AV environments and are capable of monitoring up to 64 Dante/Ravenna/Milan /AES67/ST 2110 channels and are controlled via a large 5.0 colour LCD and capacitive touch panel.

The units are effectively a monitor, analyser and test signal generator all-in-one, says Fletcher Operation is super-intuitive as users can monitor all 64 channels both audibly on internal speakers or via headphones, as well as visually on meters.

Nixer Pro Audio is a newly certified member of the Pro Audio market leaders, the Avnu Alliance . The Avnu Alliance created and maintains Milan , a standards-based deterministic network protocol for real-time media. Milan Certification assures devices will work together for maximum convenience.
