Reconstruction of Zhongshan Road completed

News came from the commanding center of the reconstruction of Zhongshan Road that on December 30 the reconstruction project of Zhongshan Road was completed, realizing the aim of accomplishing the project within the year of 2016.

At the construction site, the road has been paved, most traffic signs and lines have been marked out, and the traffic lights have been set. The granite pavements and non-motorized vehicle lanes have been completed, and the new bus station pavilions have been set up.

According to the design plan of the ZHongshan Road, the focus this year will be put on the five major sections and four major landscape projects. The five sections are divided with the Airport Road, Wangjing Road, Jiefang Road, North Jiangdong Road and Zhongxing Road, with the themes of riverside households, ancient flavor, prosperous business, future city and livable green city. The four landscape projects are the Xitang River Park, the West Ring Road Park, the Wangjing Gate Site Park, and the Sakura Park.

Reportedly, with the Rail Transit No.1, the Zhongshan Road has been reconstructed with the slow-pace system and the public traffic transit system. 18 pairs of bus stations and 26 public bicycle spots have been set along the road, leading to an integrating system of rail transit, bus, cycling and walking. The Zhongshan Road will also become smarter. Along the road, there are the smart green LED lights, which can automatically adjust its setting according to the weather conditions acquired from the internet.

The smart cloud pavilions will be set up, which can provide such services as free local calls, weather information, business information and public information with the free WiFi coverage. With the LED screens at the bus stations, the citizens can inquire about the public traffic information and check on the e-maps of the city.
