HP Expands Retail Portfolio with HP Pro Tablet Mobile Payment SolutionWindows-based mPOS solution enhances retail and hospitality customer experience

PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 28, 2015 HP today announced the HP Pro Tablet Mobile Payment Solution a mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) solution that integrates the Verifone e355 mPOS terminal with a Windows-based 8 diagonal tablet providing retailers and hospitality operators the ability to accept all types of payments, take orders and assist customers anywhere in the merchants' location.

Retail and hospitality businesses see mobility as a valuable tool that enhances customer engagement, improves productivity and increases the bottom line, said Lorena Kubera, vice president and general manager, HP's Retail Solutions Global Business Unit. With the addition of the HP Pro Tablet Mobile Payment Solution to our retail mobility portfolio, HP is giving customers the tools they need to empower their employees to enhance the customer experience.

The HP Pro Tablet Mobile Payment Solution pairs the HP Pro Tablet 608 with the HP Payment Jacket(1) and the Verifone e355 mPOS terminal(2), creating a flexible mPOS solution that enables merchants to connect their sales channels, enhance security, and deliver digital commerce right to the customer wherever they are standing. Integration with the Verifone e355 allows merchants to securely accept all methods of payment, including: EMV, NFC, mobile wallets and traditional magnetic strip credit and debit cards from customers.

The HP Pro Tablet 608 is a highly portable 8 diagonal Windows-based tablet, offering increased manageability and security features IT departments rely on to protect and secure their data and devices. The Verifone e355 is supported by Verifone's Secure Commerce Architecture, which helps retailers protect cardholder data by connecting the device directly to the processor's host or Verifone gateway helping prevent sensitive payment data from becoming exposed to malware commonly used by cybercriminals.

Secure Commerce Architecture also helps simplify terminal and PCI management for merchants, as security and PCI software updates can be remotely uploaded to terminals throughout their estate. Additionally, Secure Commerce Architecture is the foundation of Verifone's Commerce Enablement offering, which enables retailers to improve customer loyalty and increase sales with targeted digital advertising, coupons and product offers delivered to consumers at the terminal.

The HP Pro Tablet Payment Solution offers a range of configuration options that allow- customers to create and optimize the solution based on specific use-case scenarios for their business. Along with an optional shoulder strap for the jacket, Verifone offers a barcode scanner for the Verifone e355 terminal and a multi-unit charging station that charges the payment device and the tablet without removing the jacket(3).

The HP Pro Tablet Mobile Payment Solution joins the previously announced HP Pro Tablet Mobile Retail Solution which allows customers to attach a third-party payment terminal of their choice or the option to use the mobile solution for tasks other than commerce such as assisted selling and store management activities.

Availability

The HP Pro Tablet Mobile Payment Solution is expected to be available in January 2016.

The previously announced HP Pro Tablet Mobile Retail Solution is expected to be available in October 2015.
