Chennai/Luxembourg, 9 September 2026 - SES, a leading space solutions company, today announced the inauguration of its new office in Chennai, India, marking a significant milestone in the company's continued growth and investment in the country.
The inauguration ceremony for the new office, located at the DLF Cyber City Tech Campus took place on 8 September and was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs of Luxembourg, H.E. Mr. Xavier Bettel and Minister for the Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism of Luxembourg, H.E. Mr. Lex Delles and Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to India, H.E. Mr. Christian Biever.
The new office opening marks an important milestone in the growth of SES in Chennai. Building on the combined legacy of Intelsat, which established operations in the city more than five years ago, and SES, which inaugurated its Chennai office in April 2025. Since then, the companys workforce in India has tripled to more than 600 employees, reflecting Chennais growing importance as a strategic hub supporting SES's talent needs in various technical and supporting functional roles.
For more than two decades, SES has been serving India through collaborations with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and other local partners, delivering satellite-enabled connectivity solutions across India. The companys latest investment in Chennai reflects its confidence in Indias talent base and the regions increasing prominence as a center for innovation, technology and space sector growth.
