Being successful with photography - Tips and tricks on the PROFESSIONALS STAGE When the international imaging industry meets for photokina in Cologne from 20 to 25 September 2016, the focus is on the professional photographer and his business of tomorrow: this is because, with the PROFESSIONALS STAGE, Koelnmesse offers visitors an exciting format in hall 4.1, with current and practically-oriented live lectures involving business themes. Following the fantastic success of the photokina PROFESSIONALS STAGE 2014, the format will be continued and expanded upon this year: ambitious photography enthusiasts will have the possibility in the PROFESSIONALS LOUNGE to have their portfolios looked at and to receive advice. In addition to this, the LOUNGE offers the best opportunities to inform oneself about the pro business and to Network.

How can I become even more successful with my photos? Which business models are there to earn money with my images? photokina 2016 will illuminate these and other themes of more urgent interest to photographers than ever before on the PROFESSIONALS STAGE.

Be successful with photography and earn money

Daily as of 10:30 a.m., international speakers present the most important trends from marketing, self-marketing, image culture, rights to images, as well as the themes of social media and new business models for pros. For example, Michael Omori Kirchner, trainer and business coach for creatives, will explain on 21 and 23 September how one can build up a sustainable existence as a freelance photographer. Silke G ldner, coach for photographers, will speak on 22 September about the background behind dealing with usage rights, and Dr. J rgen Rink, editor in chief of the magazine c t Fotografie, reveals which photographers have a future and how one can attract attention to ones images. Kristina Kobilke, author of the mitp publishing house, will on 24 September demonstrate how success can most quickly be achieved on Instagram.

In addition to numerous other themes revolving around professional photography, the PROFESSIONALS STAGE offers short lectures everyday on the subject of photography law. The renowned media attorneys Tim Hoesmann (CentralVerband), Daniel K tz, Sebastian Deubelli and David Seiler will speak on such topics as image theft, law for photographers and image rights and social media.

The events on the PROFESSIONALS STAGE 2016 are framed by awards presented by national and international photographer associations.

Another highlight for ambitious photo enthusiasts

In addition to the compact presentations on the PROFESSIONALS STAGE, the PROFESSIONALS LOUNGE this year offers another special highlight: all interested photographers have the possibility here to present their works to renowned contact persons from the industry in the context of a portfolio viewing. Experts provide advice on portfolio presentation, positioning of work and measures for establishing networks, among other topics. In addition, the professional associations will also respond to questions.

On the middle boulevard, the publishing houses will also address all relevant questions concerning the pro business and offer the photokina visitors another meeting point for networking.
