South African music is getting recognised by international streaming services such as Spotify. The platform has released its Artist to Watch 2024 list and Mzansi's talent is on the list. According to the Spotify website the artists that are listed are predicted to make their mark in 2024. These figures are based on their streaming data. South Africa has massive talent but there are a few artists who have done exceptionally well on streaming services.

Tyla was of course a 2023 favourite as her hit single Water' received critical acclaim worldwide. Thanks to her success, African dance music and in particular Amapiano music is being introduced to the world. Find out who else is on the list below.

Spotify R&B Rising's Artists To Watch Tyla Tyla was named as one of Spotify's Rising's Artists To Watch . The Johannesburg singer has made Mzansi proud by highlighting Amapiano music. Water' is currently number 7 on the Billboard 100 chart according to their website, along with international hits from singers such as Taylor Swift and Doja Cat.

DBN Gogo is listed as an artist to watch South African superstar DBN Gogo also made the list of artists to watch. Her unique blend of amapiano and house makes her a Mzansi favourite. She currently has 1,188,581 monthly listeners on her Spotify page, making her one of the most popular African rising stars.

Uncle Waffles A star on the rise DJ and producer Uncle Waffles is on the list of artists to watch after a successful 2023. At just 23, she has already dominated the music world with over 1,266,029 monthly listeners on Spotify. Her hit singles Yahyuppiyah and Tanzania received millions of listens on the platform.

The rise of Amapiano Amapiano music seems to be dominating streaming platforms with artists such as Uncle Waffles, Tyla and DBN Gogo giving more exposure to African music. It is a unique blend of African house and kwaito music that is sure to make waves in 2024 as it is played internationally
