
After a year of significant expansion including the opening of a New York office and the acquisition of a digital agency, NuContext Creative has expanded again. Led by company Founder/Executive Creative Director Angela Guice, NuContext Creative is partnering with Emmy Award-winning Creative Director/Writer/Director Kenny Rhodes on a brand-new EPK division.
According to Guice, the launch of the new division is the result of a growing demand from clients, as well as an opportunity to work with Kenny Rhodes again. I met Kenny originally when I began my career at Autonomy, she explains. He was a great mentor to me there, and is the best interviewer I have ever worked with. I gained so many of my interviewing skills from watching Kenny. We are thrilled to welcome him to the NuContext team, and I am beyond excited about the launch of this new division. This is just one more creative service that NuContext can offer our clients, who are eager for more behind-the-scenes content.
Creative Director, Writer/Director Kenny Rhodes brings to NuContext over 15 years of experience creating promos and behind-the-scenes interstitials for major cable and broadcast networks. Rhodes is a seasoned professional with a performance background that informs his unique creative perspective. In 2005, Rhodes founded his own production company, Polaris Productions, specializing in on-air and off-air marketing materials from traditional promos to multi-camera, live-action production. During this tenure, in 2009, Rhodes garnered an Emmy Award for Best Short Format, Non-Fiction Series: Writers Draft on Fox Movie Channel. At Polaris, Rhodes' client list included: Disney, ABC, Warner Bros, AMC, Discovery Channel, Lifetime, Fox Movie Channel, TV Guide Network, MGM HD, E!, Chiller, as well as numerous corporate clients. Prior to Polaris, Rhodes was Vice President, Promo Division at Autonomy where he produced over 400 projects including: on-air and off-air promos and interstitials, Upfronts, awards packages, main titles, launch campaigns and image spots. At Autonomy, Rhodes directed 100+ shoots involving live talent with an emphasis on A-list Hollywood celebrities and high-level executives in the entertainment industry. Before joining Autonomy, Rhodes served as a Writer/Producer at FX and FXM where he conceived, wrote and produced interstitials, mini-documentaries, trivia spots, episodic promos, generics, special event & stunt promos, image campaigns, sponsored and cross-channel promotions. Additionally, Rhodes oversaw editorial, graphics and audio sessions.
The partnership between NuContext and myself feels like a perfect fit and will help us leverage both of our strengths to a whole new level, says Rhodes. With my experience conducting hundreds of behind-the-scenes and executive interviews, and Angelas team of expert production and post-production artists, our combined forces will be able to bring tremendous added value to our loyal clients, as well as new converts.
Too often interview-based shoots are relegated to lower level producers who read a list of questions prepared by someone else without follow-up, continues Rhodes. To really get the authentic answers, however, an interviewer has to listen carefully and be nimble enough to adapt his questions on the fly, often under very strict time constraints. This skill has helped me build my loyal client base, and with the reach and reputation of NuContext, we hope to provide higher quality EPK and BTS material to more studios and networks in the coming years.

Launched by noted Producer Angela Guice in Hollywood in 2006, NuContext Creative, the winner of numerous entertainment and broadcasting industry awards and honors, specializes in the conception, production, and post-production of advertising and promotional campaigns; including live-action shoots, promos, commercials, branded entertainment content, and upfront presentations for television networks, programs, and telefilms, theatrical film and home entertainment releases, and multi-media corporations and their products.
In New Year 2014, NuContext expanded by opening an office in New York. The company also acquired Trigger Happy, and launched a new digital and print division under the management of NuContext's VP of Digital & Design, Mikael Tyrsen. The new division's capabilities include: print, mobile, apps, games, prototyping, web, and social including strategy and viral applications.
NuContext recently completed promotional marketing campaigns on behalf of clients including NBC/Universal, USA Network, A+E Networks, AMC Networks , Disney Channel,Walt Disney Records, truTV, TVGN, WEtv, Oxygen, SundanceTV, BET and Fuse networks, as well as major motion pictures from Paramount, Warner Brothers, FOX, Sony, The Weinstein Company, DreamWorks, and Walt Disney Studios.
