Datavideo KMU-100 4K and RMC-185 Controller
The KMU-100 is a unique 4K multicamera production solution that delivers multiple virtual full HD (up to 1080p) scaled camera shots with minimal installation cost and simple operation. The basic concept is straightforward: The output of a single 4K/UHD camera is connected to KMU-100, which then displays up to four 16x9 user-defined windows that are sent out as four separate HD signals through HD-SDI. These user defined windows can be scaled, and using the RMC-185 controller, you can select a particular subject on the 4K signal.
The RMC-185 controller makes it easier to use the KMU-100. The integrated joystick allows you to easily pan and zoom anywhere on the 4K signal to select up to four user defined shots per 4K camera. An additional 4K camera could be connected to the KMU-100 to allow up to eight defined outputs from two 4K signals.
You can set up these shots in advance and save them as presets on the RMC-185, or you can do it in real-time. These eight virtual camera signals (up to 1080p) could be connected to any HD-SDI switcher, giving the illusion of a multi camera production when in reality, you only have two 4K cameras.
Finally, it's viable to use a 4K camera in live multicamera production, states Johan Lieffers, International Sales Director at Datavideo Technologies Europe BV. Imagine how convenient it would be to set up a live video production for concerts, press conferences, sporting events, or a worship service. No camera operator needed and minimal set-up time - a real game changer for live video producers.
KMU-100 has already won many prestigious awards including Video Innovation Award from BC Professional Videographers Association, Best of Show from TV Technology, and AV Technology.
KMU-100 is priced at $4,995 MSRP ( 4850,-) and RMC-185 is priced at $949 MSRP ( 915,-). They are both available and shipping now. All prices are excluding taxes, local import duties and shipping costs.
