YouView Achieves Greenly Gold Certification for SustainabilityNov 26, 2025

YouView is proud to announce a Gold Certification award from Greenly for our performance in carbon management. This recognises YouView's significant reduction in our carbon footprint and, and places us amongst the top 5% of companies using the Greenly platform.

Two years ago we partnered with Greenly, a global carbon management platform, to enable us to accurately measure, track and identify how to reduce our environmental impact. The collaboration marks a key step in YouView's broader commitment to building a more responsible and sustainable future for digital entertainment.

YouView's Goals

Accurately measure our Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon footprint to better understand our emissions

Develop and implement a long-term emissions reduction strategy, focusing on measurable actions to lower the carbon footprint and integrate sustainable practices across all business operations

Raise awareness amongst our employees about YouViews environmental impact, and foster a culture of sustainability throughout the business

Our assessment indicates total greenhouse gas emissions of 1.7k tCO e, corresponding to 8.9 tonnes per employee, a significant decrease from 14.0 tonnes per employee which is around a 36% reduction from the previous period. This improvement is the result of multiple operational initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption, upgrading to more efficient infrastructure, optimising resources and reducing waste. Most of YouView's footprint comes from digital operations, followed by energy use, service purchases, assets, and travel.

About the Greenly Gold CertificationGreenly's methodology evaluates not only a company's carbon footprint, but also its employee engagement and the strength of its reduction strategy. Achieving the Gold Level acknowledges a proactive stance in embedding sustainability into governance, process and culture.
