LGBTQ movies and series have been getting more recognition in the last few years with streaming sites and companies like Netflix, Universal Pictures, Disney, and Peacock investing more in LGBTQ representation in Hollywood.

Since Orange Is The New Black and Pose came out, transgender representation in film has been the main talking point, this year we saw Hollywood fully explore young trans love with the movie Anything's Possible.

Whether it is trans representation or general LGBTQIA representation, we are looking forward to queer visibility in mainstream media in 2023.

Here are the 5 LGBTQ movies and shows from 2022:

Uncoupled July 29 (Netflix) First is Uncoupled, this Netflix series explores life after marriage for a single gay man in his 40s, Michael played by Neil Patrick Harris has to enter the dating scene after 17 years of marriage.

The show follows Michael as he tries to navigate life as an old gay man in New York.

This is a star-studded show with Tisha Campbell, Suzanne Emerson, and Brooks Ashmanskas.

Bros Sept. 30 (Universal Pictures) Bros the first-ever LGBTQ-themed rom-com, Rotten Tomatoes said that it is one of the best romantic comedies of the decade, offering plenty of laughs and maybe even a few tears by the end of it

Executive producer by Billy Eichner and starring Luke Macfarlane as Eichner's love interest, Bowen Yang, Harvey Fierstein, and Guillermo D az.

Anything's Possible July 22 (Prime Video) Anything's Possible directed by Billy Porter and written by Ximena Garc a Lecuona, is an American coming-of-age romantic comedy with a trans main character.

IMDb also said that the movie is a delightfully modern Gen Z coming-of-age story that follows Kelsa, a confident high school girl who is trans, as she navigates through senior year.

Starring: Eva Reign, Abubakr Ali and Ren e Elise Goldsberry.

Heartstopper April 22 (Netflix) Heartstopper is an LGBTQ British coming-of-age romantic comedy-drama television series, it explores teens Charlie and Nick discovering their unlikely friendship.

The show follows the two as they try to learn more about one another and as love blossoms from friendship.

The show stars Joe Locke, Kit Connor, and Yasmin Finney.

Queer as Folk June 9 (Peacock) Reboot of the iconic gay series Queer as Folk which follows a group of friends in the LGBTQ community who are hit by tragedy when there is a shooting at a gay club, they need to learn how to continue living in such a chaotic world.

The cast includes Juliette Lewis, Kim Cattrall, Jesse James Keitel, and Ed Begley Jr.
