The Florida Channel It has opted for the Studio Z-HD5000 camera and the Multipurpose DK-Z50 of Hitachi to improve the visual quality of the coverage of your events live and Studio productions.
The legislative channel has acquired 3 cameras HDTV Z-HD5000 coming to join 26 box DK-Z50 Hitachi previously installed cameras in the building of the State Capitol in Tallahassee.
The Florida Channel is a parliamentary programming service funded by the State of Florida and produced and operated by WFSU-TV, from PBS Member broadcaster owned by Florida State University. It presents a programming that covers all three branches of State Government and is the main source of Florida to live and unreleased cover of the Governor and the Cabinet, the legislature and the Supreme Court.
It produces more than 2,500 hours of original programming each year that you can see in multicast channels of PBS, cable systems and channels of PEG (public, education and Government access) throughout the State. The channel also offers 18 web transmissions that provide live coverage of all parliamentary sessions.
Complementing their live sessions, the channel produces programs of study which include information Capitol Update, the series of interviews Florida Face to Face and Perspectiveswhich allows the members of the legislature present and discuss their priorities. When the channel recently conducted a full review of its production Studio, including a new decor, new lighting, new teleprompters and more, took the opportunity to also replace your cameras from a decade ago as part of the project.
Terry Longordo, Chief Engineer of WFSU-TV / The Florida Channel recognizes that "we were pleased with the quality of the signal produced by those Hitachi box cameras, and we wanted the same level of quality for the study. Everything in the Z-HD5000 coincided with what we were looking for".
The quality of the image was also a key factor when The Florida Channel selected for the first time the camera box DK-Z50 to replace outdated models that are widescreen in selected rooms. "Even though we use some cameras all in one low-cost for small meeting rooms, were not adequate to cover the larger places we have in the Knott building in the Capitol complex and the Chambers of the House and the Senate", points out. Longordo. "We wanted to cameras more robust and better quality and heavier robotic systems for larger rooms. Outside cameras we tested, liked the results that we obtained with Hitachi cameras in the best way. We noticed a remarkable difference in the quality of the video when we change the old cameras by the DK-Z50 ".
Now used eight DK-Z50 in the Legislative Chamber, with six more in the Senate Chamber and other six in each of the two committees in the Knott building rooms. All DK-Z50 are combined with the objectives with zoom Fujinon HAs18x7.6BZD-T5DD and robotically operated in turn heads / tilt Ross Video CamBot 500 series.
Longordo highlighted the ability of the Chambers to overcome the challenges related to the lighting in the building of the Capitol stating that "rooms of the committees never were designed for the use of the camera, so the lighting is very basic. We get some difficult lighting conditions, particularly depending on where the people on stage is seated. Hitachi cameras work well despite the limitations of lighting with which we must work."
