The Observatorio para la digitalizaci n del Sector Media ha celebrado este martes en la sede de la Real Academia de Ingenier a una jornada sobre la tecnolog a 5G aplicada a la industria audiovisual. La apertura del acto ha correspondido al acad mico Miguel ngel Lagunas already Pere Vila, director de Estrategia Tecnol gica e Innovaci n Digital de Rtve.
Durante la jornada, los responsables de RTVE han mostrado a representantes del mundo acad mico, la industria y las administraciones p blicas, la visi n, el compromiso y las actividades que la Corporaci n est realizando para incorporar esta nueva tecnolog a al sector de los medios de comunicaci n.
El director de Emisi n y Redes de RTVE, Adolfo Mu oz; scar Prieto And Gabriel Solsona han explicado la participaci n de RTVE en el consorcio de uno de los grandes proyectos europeos del programa H2020, financiado por la Comisi n Europea, denominado precisamente 5G Media.
Junto a ellos, las universidades espa olas m s activas en la aplicaci n de la tecnolog a 5G y que colaboran estrechamente con RTVE han mostrado los diferentes proyectos en los que est n trabajando actualmente.
Jos Manuel Men ndez, director de la C tedra RTVE en la Universidad Polit cnica de Madrid, ha dado a conocer los ltimos avances en materia de compresi n y difusi n de los contenidos audiovisuales a trav s de las nuevas redes 5G.
Por su parte, el profesor de la Universidad Polit cnica de Valencia Manuel Fuentes ha contado el liderazgo de esta Universidad en dos proyectos europeos: el 5G XCast y el proyecto 5G Tours.
Por ltimo, el profesor de la Universidad de M laga Pablo Merino ha se alado la participaci n de esta instituci n en el proyecto europeo 5G G nesis, que est convirtiendo a esta ciudad en uno de los ejemplos mundiales de Smart City.
Con esta jornada, RTVE refuerza su colaboraci n con la industria audiovisual, con las universidades y su proyecci n europea, convirti ndose en uno de los radiodifusores p blicos pioneros, en la investigaci n, desarrollo y aplicaci n de la tecnolog a 5G.
