Chris O'Dowd and Nick Vincent Murphy's multi award winning comedy, MOONE BOY will return to Sky 1 on 2nd March 2015 for a brand new series with a raft of special guests. Most recently crowned best sitcom at the British Comedy Awards, the third series will see Sir Terry Wogan (Wake up to Wogan, BBC Radio 2), Sharon Horgan (Psychobitches), John Sessions (Mr Selfridge, Gangs of New York) and Bronagh Gallagher (The Commitments, Pulp Fiction) taking on guest roles alongside David Rawle (Martin Moone) and Chris O'Dowd (Sean Murphy) across the six part series of fresh adventures.
Sir Terry Wogan will play the host of a home video show in an episode that sees Martin and Padraic (Ian O'Reilly) attempt to film an hilarious clip in a bid to be featured on TV.
Sharon Horgan plays Sharon Morgan, a high powered, yoga-loving entrepreneur and Liam's ex- girlfriend. Sharon left Boyle for London many years ago leaving a madly in love Liam (Peter MacDonald) behind. Both Debra (Deirdre O'Kane) and Liam get a surprise when they unexpectedly run into her whilst on a 20th wedding anniversary break away.
John Sessions is Dr Steven Gnot, local conspiracy theorist and radio presenter of "Believe It Or Not with Dr Steven Gnot". He investigates the many anomalies that occur in Boyle, a town which is well-known to be Irelands foremost UFO hot-spot.
Bronagh Gallagher will star as Pat ODwyer, mother to Martin Moone's best friend Padraic.
Now in the 90s but in no hurry to grow up, Martin Moone and his imaginary pal Sean Murphy, plus best mate Padraic, enjoy a fresh batch of escapades, from becoming door-to-door salesman and hunting for UFOs to wrangling pet donkey Donkey Kong. The Moone Household, meanwhile, is at bursting point following the addition of Dessie (Ronan Raftery) and baby Rose to the chaotic brood.
This third series of MOONE BOY continues Sky's investment into original comedy and follows a new series of Ruth Jones' warm Welsh comedy drama STELLA launching this February, also Sky 1. Later this year Sky will be bringing customers more new comedy including the second series of YONDERLAND and DOLL & EM, along with the all new AFTER HOURS, written by Molly Naylor and John Osborne and directed by Craig Cash.
MOONE BOY also stars Claire Monnelly as Fidelma Moone, Aoife Duffin as Tricia Moone, Sarah White as Sinead Moone and Norma Sheahan as Linda. Johnny Vegas returns as Crunchie Danger Haystacks, the imaginary friend of Martin's best friend Padraic and Simon Delaney is back as Gerry.
