PDN PhotoPlus 0: ZEI Lens Premieres at the 0 PDN PhotoPlus

The new ZEISS lenses will be introduced at the PDN PhotoPlus Expo in New York City, the leading photography fair in North America. More than 24,000 photographers and enthusiasts visit the annual event at the Javits Convention Center. ZEISS will be at booth 1155 with its lenses from 24-26 October 2013 when it will present two special highlights. The Touit 2.8/50M is the latest member of the ZEISS Touit line for compact system cameras (CSC) from Sony and Fujifilm. ZEISS will exhibit a prototype of the lens for the first time at the fair. The macro lens complements the multiple award-winning Touit 2.8/12 and Touit 1.8/32 that were introduced in June 2013. Another highlight from ZEISS is the new Otus 1.4/55 SLR lens, which is the first in a new family of high-end camera lenses from ZEISS.

The Otus 1.4/55 achieves maximum definition and contrast rendition down to the image corners and delivers unparalleled imaging excellence even at maximum aperture. Combined with state-of-the-art DSLR cameras with high-

resolution sensors, in particular, it impresses ambitious amateur and professional photo-

graphers in advertising, fashion and studio photography. Additional lenses in this family of high-end lenses from ZEISS will follow.

The Otus 1.4/55 will be available in stores from the end of October 2014 at a recommended price of 2,940 or US$3,999 (excluding VAT).

Mirrorless system cameras are very popular thanks to their compact size and excellent image quality. With the extreme wide-angle Touit 2.8/12 and the standard Touit 1.8/32 for Fujifilm X and Sony E mount cameras, ZEISS entered the market for mirrorless system cameras with interchange-

able autofocus lenses in spring 2013. In addition to its innovative optics and mechanical design, the new line of lenses also features an attractive design that has garnered multiple design awards. Furthermore, the Touit 2.8/12 was honored with the coveted EISA Award as the 2013-2014 European Compact System Lens of the Year.

"With the Touit 2.8/50M, we will add a powerful macro lens to the Touit family," says Schleuning. "With magnification power of 1:1, we give demanding users of mirrorless system cameras the opportunity to arrange their own high-quality macro images. The Touit 2.8/50M is also ideal for everyday situations and portraits." Sales of the latest member of the Touit family is scheduled for the first quarter of 2014.

In addition to these innovations, ZEISS is also exhibiting its entire portfolio of lenses for photography and HD video applications: the ZEISS SLR lenses with an F bayonet (ZF.2) or EF bayonet (ZE) up to the ZEISS cine lenses Compact Prime CP.2 and ZEISS Compact Zoom CZ.2. ZEISS will also have on display its line of lenses with an M bayonet (ZM) for analog and digital rangefinder cameras.

Booth visitors will be able to test all available lenses on current cameras. ZEISS experts will also be available to answer any questions.
