Amagi announced on Thursday that it has signed an agreement to acquire Tellyo.

Through the deal, Amagi, the cloud-based SaaS technology for broadcast and connected TV, adds the business of Tellyo, a real-time live cloud remote production, clipping/editing, and social sharing platform to its portfolio.

Together, we will not only enrich Amagi's product offerings, but also bring investments in the Eastern European region and create new possibilities for local talent and global customers.

It's a notable move for the sports broadcasting sector as Tellyo and its product Stream Studio has emerged as a popular platform of choice for live streaming to multiple destinations while also delivering short-form content to social platforms quickly.

The deal also expands Amagi's company footprint into Europe Tellyo's product development center in Poland. Earlier last year, Amagi also set up a development center in Croatia.
